You can now get turn-by-turn directions from your Google Maps locations, such as “home” or “work” (presumably those places these days).
For places you haven’t saved, like a bakery or hardware store, you can set directions on your phone’s Google Maps app and your watch will sync for the rest of the trip. Step-by-step directions on your wrist also work in walking, biking, and public transit modes.

Google Maps is also adding a split-screen feature for Apple’s CarPlay. So drivers can have directions on one side of their car’s screen, and their music, podcasts and calendar appointments on the other. This means you can do everything in Google’s app instead of switching to your default Maps from Apple.
